On Sunday 25th June we started to prayer walk the Foxwood estate and surrounding parts of Acomb, Woodthorpe and Dringhouses.
This was a repeat of last summers series of prayer walks, which resulted in a highly successful Alpha course and through which we saw people come into church from the estate.
We walked around the area praying in each street. Whenever we came to a point where we felt a particular heaviness or where the Spirit of God directed us, we stopped and prayed a while.
As we walked praying in English and in tongues we sought God to show us spiritual strongholds so that we could wage war in the heavenlies and speak freedom to those around.
We also prophesied at specific points, where God directed and we made declarations of freedom for those enslaved by drugs and other addictions.
Our main aim for this first walk was to "establish a perimeter", and following walks over the next few weeks will take more ground as we anoint the soles of our feet to take the oil wherever we go.
